Some of the most comforting Bible verses for strength when you have none left are Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 40:29–31, Psalm 46:1, Philippians 4:13, Joshua 1:9, and Psalm 55:22. Together, they remind us that God’s strength often meets us exactly where our own strength runs out.

All 25 verses below are from the King James Version. You do not have to read all 25 today. Find the one that sounds like where you are, and let that one be enough for now.

What does the Bible say about strength when you feel weak?

The Bible says that God gives strength to the weak, upholds the weary, and helps those who do not have enough strength on their own.

There was a season in my life when my marriage ended and the structure of my family completely changed. The life I had spent years building no longer looked the way I thought it would. There were things I wanted to repair that I could not repair by trying harder, carrying more, or loving better. There were questions I could not answer and outcomes I could not control.

For a long time, I thought strength meant holding everything together.

I thought being strong meant finding one more ounce of energy, solving one more problem, having one more hard conversation, and somehow keeping everything from falling apart.

But there came a point when I did not have that kind of strength left.

That is where I began learning something different about God’s strength.

Sometimes He did not give me strength to fix the whole situation. He gave me strength for that day.

Sometimes He did not show me how the story would end. He showed me the next faithful step.

Sometimes strength meant speaking. Sometimes it meant becoming quiet enough to stop explaining everything. Sometimes it meant continuing to love the people in front of me while accepting that I could not choose for them. Sometimes it meant putting down what was never mine to carry.

I used to think strength meant being able to carry more.

Now I think some of the deepest strength God gives us is the ability to trust Him enough to carry what is ours, release what is not, and keep walking even when we cannot yet see the whole road.

If what you are carrying feels more like a wound than simple weariness, these bible verses about healing may meet you there too.

Which Bible verses help when you have no strength left?

Bible verses for strength remind us that weakness is not the end of the story. God’s help is often most visible when we have stopped pretending we can do it all ourselves.

1. Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

For when you need to remember that God does not merely tell you to be strong. He promises to strengthen, help, and uphold you.

2. Isaiah 40:29

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

For when you are already depleted. This verse is for the woman who does not have much left.

3. Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

For when trouble is not far away or abstract. God is a very present help right in the middle of it.

For when fear keeps asking questions you cannot answer.

“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

For when strength looks less like doing more and more like becoming still enough to let God fight what you cannot.

If you want a broader collection for other hard seasons too, start with bible verses for every season of rebuilding.

Which Bible verses help you keep going one step at a time?

Bible verses about renewed strength remind us that you do not need strength for the whole road at once. You need enough for the next faithful step.

21. Isaiah 40:31

For when waiting feels unproductive. God renews strength there too.

Bible verses for strength from Isaiah, Psalms, and Matthew offering encouragement when you feel depleted

How do you use Bible verses for strength when you are exhausted?

When you are exhausted, it helps to use one Bible verse for strength at a time instead of trying to take in all 25 at once.

Read one aloud.

Write it somewhere you will see it.

Return to the same one tomorrow if you still need it.

Pray it back to God in your own words.

And instead of asking for enough strength to solve the entire future, ask God for enough strength for the next faithful step.

That has become one of the most important lessons of rebuilding for me.

I do not always need enough light for the whole road.

I need enough light to see where to put my foot next.

Which part of your life is actually asking for strength?

Sometimes what feels like a need for more discipline is actually exhaustion. What looks like a motivation problem may really be grief, fear, depletion, or carrying too much for too long.

Knowing which part of your life is asking for strength changes what you do next.

I made a short quiz to help you see which part of your life is asking for attention first. It takes about three minutes.

What are common questions about Bible verses for strength?

What is a good Bible verse for strength when I feel like I cannot keep going?

Isaiah 41:10 is one of the best places to begin because it directly says, “I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee.”

What Bible verse says God gives strength to the weak?

Isaiah 40:29 says, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

No. Scripture makes room for weariness, weakness, sorrow, and faintness. God’s strength is often most visible when we have come to the end of our own.

What should I do if I still feel weak after reading these verses?

Stay with one verse and let it become a steady place to return to. Read it aloud, write it down, and pray it back to God. Scripture is not always instant relief, but it is real support.

How can I know my next step if I do not feel strong enough?

Ask God for enough strength for today rather than clarity for the entire future. Then take the next faithful step that is already in front of you.

You do not have to become a completely different person to faithfully steward the life God has entrusted to you. You simply need to begin, right here, right now, with what is already in your hands.

I am not standing at the finish line looking back. I am on the trail with you.

One faithful step at a time,
