Something Small Enough

to Say Yes to Today

A few free things for the days you're not ready for anything more, permission to go slowly, and a place to start when starting still feels like too much.

Printable guide called Five First Steps helping women discover where to begin after life changes.

Maybe you've read this far on other pages and still haven't clicked anything. Maybe the idea of finding out what's "actually holding you back" feels like one more thing you're not ready to face today. Maybe some days it isn't even about starting over, it's just about not feeling invisible for five minutes. You don't have to face any of it today. You just have to take one small thing that's already yours, no quiz, no email required to look, no version of yourself you have to become first.

Twenty Small Reminders for the Days You Need Them

These are Bible verses for starting over, twenty of them, grouped by whatever today actually feels like. You don't have to feel ready to believe these are true for you. Some days you'll read them and feel nothing at all, and that's alright too. Come back to them anyway.

Where Do I Even Start From Here?

Some days the hardest part isn't the rebuilding,

it's not knowing where to even set your foot first.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Even when the road ahead is unclear to you, it was never unclear to Him.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing.

You don't have to keep replaying what already happened. Something new is allowed to exist right alongside the grief.

Proverbs 4:18

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

You don't have to be fully in the light today. Steady, inch by inch, is still moving toward it.

When You're Just Trying to Make It Through Today

You don't need a five-year plan right now, you just need to get through the next few hours.

Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

This isn't an invitation to try harder. It's an invitation to rest.

Psalm 34:18

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

You don't have to hide the broken parts to come near to Him.

Psalm 30:5

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Grief and hope have shared a room before. They can again.

When You Don't Feel Strong Enough

Strength doesn't have to be something you already have before you're allowed to keep going.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Not because you found extra strength on your own. Because you stopped trying to carry it alone.

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.

Waiting isn't the same as being stuck. Sometimes it's exactly where strength is being rebuilt.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Fear was never the voice meant to lead you.

When Trust Feels Hard to Find Again

After everything that's happened, trusting anything, even God, can feel like the riskiest thing you could do.

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

You don't need the whole plan today. You just need the next faithful step.

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

You don't have to wait until you feel strong to be held. Help was never meant to arrive only after you've got it together.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

You were never meant to walk this alone, even on the days it feels like you are.

When You Wonder If You're Still Being Held

It's easy to believe you're only held together by your own effort, especially on the days effort is all you have left.

Psalm 23:1, 3

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want... he restoreth my soul.

Restoration isn't something you have to manufacture on your own. It's something done for you, gently, one quiet moment at a time.

Psalm 37:23-24

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD... though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Falling isn't the opposite of faithful. Staying down would be. You're still held, even mid-stumble.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.

This doesn't mean the hard part didn't hurt. It means it doesn't get the last word either.

When Something New Is Actually Growing

Even when nothing feels different yet, something real can already be taking root underneath it all.

Joel 2:25

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.

Restoration doesn't always look like getting back exactly what was lost. Sometimes it looks like becoming someone new, faithfully, from exactly where you stood when you decided to begin.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

New doesn't mean unrecognizable. It means faithfully, gradually, becoming.

Lamentations 3:22-23

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

You don't have to carry yesterday into today. Mercy doesn't run out overnight, it starts over with you every morning.

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it.

You don't have to finish this alone or all at once. What's begun in you is still being carried, even on the slow days.

Proverbs 31:25

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Joy about what's ahead isn't something you have to earn by feeling brave first. It can just be there, right alongside the strength.

There's no rush to move past this page. Come back to these as many times as you need to, today or six months from now.

But if some part of you is starting to wonder what your own next step might look like, that's here too, whenever you're ready, not before.

Feeling ready for more?

Questions Women Ask Before They Begin

These are the questions that actually come up, not the polished ones, the real ones. If yours isn't here, that doesn't mean it isn't worth asking.

I don't know who I am anymore after divorce. Is that normal?

Yes. Losing your sense of yourself doesn't mean you're broken, it means something in your life changed enough to shake loose who you thought you were. That's not the end of the story.

Is it too late for me to start over?

No. It's not too late at 40, 50, or 60, and it's not too late today, either.

I know I need God but I've stopped praying. Does that disqualify me from any of this?

Not even close. You don't have to have your faith figured out to begin. Some of the most honest praying starts with admitting you've stopped.

What does God want me to do with my life?

Start smaller than that question. Before it's about a calling or a career or the next ten years, it's usually about the next faithful thing in front of you today. Purpose tends to reveal itself in the doing, not before it.

Starting over with God feels different than starting over on my own. Where do I even begin with that?

Begin exactly where you are, not where you think you should be spiritually. You don't need to have this figured out before you take a first step. The verses above are a good place to start.

How do I stop feeling invisible?

Start with one person, even yourself, actually seeing what you're carrying. That's what this page and the free resources here are for, not to make you visible to everyone, just to remind you that you're not as unseen as it feels.

How to feel financially secure again after divorce?

You rebuild financial security the same way you rebuild anything else here: one faithful step at a time, not all at once. That starts with knowing exactly what you have right now, taking one small, concrete action toward stability this week, and trusting that steady progress holds up better than a fast fix ever does.

What single moms go through?

Being the one everyone else depends on, with no one asking who's carrying you. Making every decision alone, even the small ones, and still being expected to have it together in front of your kids. You're not imagining how heavy that is. You're just finally saying it out loud.

What's the catch with a free download?

There isn't one. This isn't a bait-and-switch, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. You'll get exactly what's promised, nothing more expected of you, no pressure, no fine print.

If you made it this far, you've already done something today: you let yourself ask the questions you've been carrying quietly. That's not nothing.

If there's room for one more small thing, this is it.

Steady, Inch by Inch, that's not just something I say. It's how this page was built to work too.
